What is Sort?

Sort is a simple tool that solves a big problem in data management

Customer portrait
“How do I handle all these data changes I need to make every day, from multiple sources - and what happens when something goes wrong?”

These data changes are usually made through scattered and unaccountable processes, such as data feeds, manual changes, AI bots, and more. Sort collects all these data changes in one place, streamlines everything, and makes the process 100% transparent.

How does Sort work?

STEP
Step 1

Make data changes via Sort API or Sort UI

Use the Sort UI or Sort API to propose data changes.

step
Step 2

Auto approve the data change or manually approve it, your choice

Review proposed or previous data changes, similar to a Pull Request workflow.

Step
Step 3

Sort make the changes in your database for you, with a complete history.

Sort goes into your database and makes data changes for you - no SQL needed.

step

Everything gets logged, with an Undo button!

Sort creates a history of who changed your data, when they did it, and what changed, and why. Choose to Undo bad data changes!

What do our users say?
"As a data engineer, and former data analyst, I love how Sort improves transparency between teams for data changes. No one will be left in the dark when a change happens outside of their team"
Jade Knight
Data Engineer
This is super exciting. I never thought about Github-style workflows for data change management before, but now that I see it, i’m surprised this didn’t exist already. I want to start using this!
Michael Deck
BI Engineer
With Sort, my clients no longer need to spend time or money building admin portals for data changes. Instead their support staff can easily (and securely) suggest changes directly in the database, no SQL required!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sort?
Down arrow

Sort enables engineering best practices to improve data quality. If you're familiar with Github pull requests, Sort uses the same workflows for data changes. In addition to data changes, Sort makes it easy to report data issues and navigate databases, similar to GitHub repos.

How does Sort fix bad data to improve data quality?
Down arrow

Sort makes it simple to report issues on bad data values. After an issue is opened, a Change Request can be created to address the data issue and execute any fixes to the data (after an administrator approves and applies the Change Request via Sort's interface). The issue can then be closed after the bad data has been fixed by Sort.

What is Sort's long-term vision?
Down arrow

Sort's long-term vision is to make databases accessible, whether within your organization or the world. We are making it easy to share, collaborate, and build on top of data.
